History

Ray Swartley is the grandfather of our current principal agent. He was a farmer who decided to switch careers and become an insurance agent out of Plumsteadville in the 1960’s.

In 1995 Ray and his sons purchased a building in Silverdale to house the Swartley agency. The Swartley agency was eventually sold to First Service Bank and became BB&T/McGriff insurance. The second generation decided they did not enjoy the corporate feel and Phil Swartley partnered with Rob Stone to start Covenant Insurance Group.

John Henning Insurance was founded March 1, 1996 in Ambler. His twin brother Jim joined the team a couple years later. They rented our current office space off Horsham road in early 2000’s and were very involved in the community serving on local school boards, coaching football, and a part of Calvary Church in Souderton.

On January 1, 2017 the Henning agency joined Covenant Insurance Group so that they could begin to retire and let Phil Swartley manage the agency. Three years later, on December 1, 2020 Kate Swartley purchased the Ambler office, formerly the Henning Agency, and became Covenant Insurance Advisors.

Kate is proud to represent both the Swartley and Henning family heritage by continuing to provide top notch service to her clients, along with a staff that truly cares. Today we serve over 5,000 clients; many of whom have been with us through multiple generations.
